Cranbourne Botanic Gardens Field Trip

One of the highlights of our first-year program is the annual visit to the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, a place where Australian landscape design, horticulture and ecological principles converge in the most breathtaking way.

Led by our Director Brent Reid, the day is a guided exploration of the iconic Australian Garden, a living showcase of native plants, bold design moves and thoughtful environmental responses. Brent teaches throughout the tour, helping students unpack plant choices, spatial composition and the stories behind the garden’s creation.

For students beginning their garden design journey, this immersive field trip is more than just a day out – it’s a grounding experience in how plants, place and purpose come together.

We believe in learning from the very best landscapes Australia has to offer, and it doesn’t get more distinctly Australian than this.
